New York City Adventure: Exploring the Big Apple in 3 Days (Brooklyn Edition)

New York City, often referred to as the “Big Apple,” is a bustling metropolis where skyscrapers reach for the sky, and the streets are alive with the energy of millions of people. In this blog post, I’ll take you on a whirlwind journey through my recent trip to the city that never sleeps, exploring some of its iconic landmarks, savoring delicious bites, and experiencing the vibrant nightlife. This is my third trip to New York City so we decided to explore more of Brooklyn and do less of the touristy stuff (i.e. See Times Square, but definitely worth going to if you haven’t been)

Day 1: Arrival in the City That Never Sleeps

My Flight: Depart YYZ 6:55 PM | Arrive EWR 8:29 PM

Late-Night Refreshment: Apotheke – After arriving in New York City, I wasted no time immersing myself in its unique culture. My first stop was Apotheke, a hidden gem in Chinatown known for its craft cocktails. It was the perfect place to kick off my NYC adventure with a late-night drink.

Day 2: Exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn

Lunch: Industrie Pizza – After a good night’s sleep, I started my day with a delicious lunch at Industrie Pizza. Their wood-fired pizzas were the ideal fuel for a day of exploration.

Activity: Summit One and Manhattan Stroll – I ventured to Summit One, an observation deck with breathtaking views of Manhattan. Afterward, I took a leisurely walk around Manhattan, soaking in the city’s unique atmosphere.

Snack: Prince Street Pizza & Levain Cookies – A visit to Prince Street Pizza for their iconic square slices and Levain Bakery for their legendary cookies were musts on my foodie checklist.

Activity: Brooklyn Bridge – No visit to New York City is complete without a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, offering stunning views of the city skyline.

Dinner: Casa Ora – For dinner, I had a reservation at Casa Ora in Brooklyn. The cozy atmosphere and delicious Latin American food made for a perfect evening.

Nighttime Adventure: Tonita’s – After dinner, I decided to explore Tonita’s, a local spot known for its lively atmosphere and great music. This is the place to go if you love Bad Bunny.

Day 3: Central Park, DUMBO, and the NYC Skyline

Lunch: All’Antico Vinaio NYC – I indulged in a mouthwatering lunch at All’Antico Vinaio NYC, known for its exceptional Italian sandwiches. This restaurant originated in Italy, but brought over its deliciousness to NYC. If you go definitely get the mortadella panino.

Activity: Central Park and DUMBO – I spent the day wandering through Central Park, enjoying the serene oasis in the heart of the city, and exploring DUMBO, with its picturesque views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. I spent the sunset along the coast with the sun setting behind Manhattan’s skyline.

Dinner: Atoboy – For dinner, I had a reservation at Atoboy, where I experienced a delightful Korean-inspired tasting menu. This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Atomix, the highest rated NYC restaurant on Worlds Top 50 list.

Nighttime Exploration: Brooklyn Bar Crawl – My night continued with a Brooklyn bar crawl, hitting up Watertower Bar and Maison Premiere, where I enjoyed cocktails and the Brooklyn nightlife. These bars are more chill and talking vibes.

Day 4: Departure from the City That Never Sleeps

My Flight: Depart EWR 3:10 PM | Arrive YTZ 4:55 PM

Lunch Before Departure Before leaving this vibrant city, I grabbed one last delicious meal to savor the flavors of NYC.

Where We Stayed: 42 Hotel in Brooklyn

Throughout our stay, we enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the Brooklyn 42 Hotel, located at 428 South 5th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. The hotel’s central location allowed us to explore the city with ease. It was easy to use NYC 24/7 subway system.

New York City lived up to its reputation as the city that never sleeps. From iconic landmarks to delicious food and vibrant nightlife, this trip was an unforgettable adventure. NYC’s energy and diversity make it a destination that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
